1. The principle that applies here
Love in Room uses no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics cookies and no social network trackers.
No consent banner is displayed, because no tracker subject to consent is placed. The only cookies used are strictly necessary for the operation or the security of the site, and fall within the exemption provided for in Article 82 II of French Act no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978.
2. Audience measurement — without cookies
Site audience is measured using Umami, a tool installed on our own servers, whose data is not shared with any third party.
Umami places no cookies and stores no data on your device. It does not use a persistent identifier allowing you to be tracked across sites or across visits. IP addresses are not kept in clear text in the statistics.
This measurement is used exclusively for audience measurement purposes and is configured so as to meet the conditions for exemption from consent laid down in Article 82 of French Act no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 and in the CNIL's recommendations.
The resulting data is purely statistical: pages viewed, referring page, device type, country.

All these cookies are placed by Love in Room (first-party cookies), are inaccessible to code running in the browser where their nature allows it, and are transmitted encrypted.
4. Bot protection
Some pages containing a form use Cloudflare Turnstile, a protection mechanism against automated submissions.
This mechanism may place a technical cookie determined by Cloudflare, whose sole purpose is the security of the service. As such it falls within the exemption from consent. Cloudflare also acts as a content delivery and attack protection network, which may lead to technical security cookies being placed.
5. Browser local storage
Some features store information in your browser (local or session storage) rather than in a cookie: a draft listing being written, a display preference, a booking currently being paid for.
These storages are used locally by your browser for the operation of the features concerned. Where information must be sent to the server to provide the service you request, that transmission is described in our privacy policy.
You can erase them by clearing the site data from your browser.
6. Payment
When you pay for a booking, the payment form is provided by Stripe, which may place the cookies required for transaction security and fraud prevention. These cookies are strictly necessary to carry out the payment you request.
7. How to control this
You can delete the cookies placed at any time and configure your browser to refuse them.
Refusing session cookies will prevent you from signing in to a host account and from completing a booking: these cookies are essential to those services.
